Citrus Australia’s inaugural Biosecurity Symposium held recently at the Australian Citrus Congress, offered an insight into biosecurity within the citrus industry.

The event focused on the risk Huanglongbing disease poses to citrus businesses, and provided attendees with a better understanding of how a detection of this disease would be managed in Australia.

Biosecurity Queensland’s Manager of Incident Response and Preparedness, Dr Suzy Perry explained the role of government during an exotic pest incursion response, and the importance of government and industry partnerships in emergency responses.
