About the course

The Introduction to the Biosecurity Act 2015 interactive learning tool provides an overview of Australia’s national biosecurity legislation and its application to individuals, businesses and government.

Developed by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), this course supports the implementation of the Biosecurity Act 2015, which came into effect on 16 June 2016. It introduces learners to the legislative framework governing Australia’s biosecurity system, including key chapters of the Act and the relationship between primary and delegated legislation.

Through interactive content, case studies and scenario-based learning, the module helps users understand how the Act applies in real-world biosecurity situations.
